Actors will be working with the current script and should be prepared for adjustments and changes to be made throughout the lab. This means that the Spiral team may ask the participants to try things in various ways.
Casting will be based in part on vocal range and quality as fits the character, acting ability, authenticity of emotional expression, and the flexibility to adjust to changes as presented.
For this developmental lab, casting will be without regard to age, race, ethnicity, and gender of the characters as currently written.
Per the protocol and standards of Pentacle Theatre, an Intimacy Coordinator will be present during auditions and rehearsal to assure that both intimacy and other physical contact that may occur in the lab are choreographed and that cast members needs are acknowledged and met.
"An Intimacy Coordinator is a professional who works with actors and production teams to ensure that intimate scenes are carried out safely, respectfully, and consensually. They help choreograph intimate scenes, advocate for performers' rights, and facilitate open communication between all parties involved."
